The Power of Tattoos in Commemoration
When it comes to deciding on a tattoo, many people want to take something important in their life and turn it into a lifelong work of art. This can mean honoring loved ones, commemorating significant events, or showcasing lifelong hobbies. However, many individuals don't realize just how much they can represent without being incredibly literal.
So Julie and her sisters came in to get help with just that. They sought unconventional ways to depict their love for their lost parents and their shared experience of spreading their ashes.
A Shared Experience of Loss
Each of these three sisters came together after their parents' passing to celebrate their lives. They took a moment to spread their parents' ashes, each having a profoundly personal moment to say goodbye.
Julie saw her parents as a butterfly flitting through the plumeria branches nearby. Her sister said goodbye while watching the plumeria flowers drift down the waters. The last sister, inspired by her other sister's experience, found meaning in how their parents' ashes swirled away in the current.
Despite sharing the same moment, each sister's experience varied greatly. This required a different perspective and practice, allowing them to uniquely commemorate their parents.
The Artistic Journey Continues
As shown above, this wouldn't be the only time Julie sought our help to commemorate something significant. We later collaborated to artistically express the symbolism of falling ginkgo leaves in the wind. This was especially meaningful after the back-to-back hurricanes that rocked Florida, impacting both of us.
More Stories of Commemoration
Of course, Julie and her sisters aren't the only ones we assist in this journey. We have helped many families and individuals commemorate their loved ones and significant events through tattoos. Here are a few more examples to inspire you:

Finding Strength Through Art
If these examples have helped you understand anything, I hope it's that no matter our troubles, we can find a way through them. We can discover strength in moving past them and even beauty in the world around us.
