Tom's journey from father to son

Tom and Peter had a great time working on a massive back piece together, and always had new ideas to keep jamming out. However as times and schedules changed, and I grew as an artist, new and more efficient options became available. Leading those new inspirations to transfer seamlessly from father to son. Allowing Tom to get the best of his schedule, his surreal dreamy pattern ideas, and more!

Wondrous Journeys | Magic Patterns

Peter and Tom worked wonders together across his back as you can see. They would discuss all kinds inspirations, and experiences that would add to it. Each idea building on the last as they chatted about philosophy, and current events.

But as time changed so too did each of their schedules and necessities. Tom began to travel more while Peter gained new mural and construction projects constraining what time they both had to devote to the tattoos.

Session 1: The Resurggance

As you can tell though that was far from the end. Since I've learned everything not just about tattooing but art, and their inspirations from Peter. So when they couldn't meet up to tattoo the new area growing over the shoulder I seamlessly stretched the new high contrast dreamy patterns from sacred geometry to textile night sky, and of course Tom's new favorite back lit glowing Panther guide!

By using the numerous inspiration images they created, and getting my own from working with Tom who would share numerous stories of his experience as a kind of dream Shepard we unfolded our new surreal textile session after session. Until now where we are only 1 or 2 sessions from wrapping his whole shoulder and bicep with the piece.

From there who knows what dreams Tom will will to us with next.

Of course holding true to Peter and Tom's styles so far came with its own challenges. Regardless I was happy to rise to them. even go as far as to create my own as the sun like glow in the piece is far from easy itself. Requiring me to stagger my colors and blending to guarantee the brightness of both my blues and yellows. As even a slight slip up in cleaning the piece mid session could smear and stain my bright golden glow into a muddy blue green mix, and yet we haven't a trace of such a thing this whole time

This is one of the many benefits of working with a storied family business like ours. Not just experienced artists, but the ability for both me and Peter to work together in ways no other artist in our 30 years plus experience can match.

Tom made his surreal dreams come true.
